BUTTERMILK BISCUITS
Biscuits are my favorite comfort food, and these are only 3 ingredients which makes them so easy! They will most certainly become your new favorite recipe! There is no yeast that requires rising and resting, and there is pretty much no downtown whatsoever. I created this for a quick and easy way to make a large batch for a gathering or just to have with a nice dinner at home without having to start baking several hours in advanced. I am not sure about you all, but I have zero patiences and do not like to spend all day baking and prepping just for something so simple (a side dish). I do have other biscuit recipes on the blog that require more ingredients and prep time, but still do not require a rising ingredient or any kneading.
Biscuits are truly the best because they can be savory or sweet when add with things like a jelly or fruit or mixed with bacon, cheese, green onions etc. These biscuits have lots of layers and this is because growing up (and still today) I use to love Pillsbury Crescent Rolls and Flakey Layered Biscuits. These were always available in our fridge and was such a simple way to get breakfast together or put on the table for dinner etc. Because of those biscuits I wanted to create something just as simple and quick but homemade and so much more delicious! I also have homemade jam on my site! Its also so easy!
TIPS:
It is absolutely essential that the butter has been frozen for a few hours or overnight. This is because you will be grating it to make sure that it is evenly dispersed throughout the entire dough. It will be extremely difficult if it is room temperature, warm or even just from the fridge. It will melt in your hand as you’re grating it and it will become a huge mess.
The more layers, the better! There is nothing wrong with having only a few layers but I personally am a fan of a biscuit with tons of layers. Something about pulling it apart and dousing each layer in strawberry jam and some butter makes fort

- Fold the dough in half, and roll out again to 2/3rd thick and a rectangle. Continue this process for about 10-12 times – this creates the layers so the more folds the more flakey buttery layers you will create.

- Butter a cast iron skillet or a line a baking sheet for square biscuits and place them in the buttered dishes
